As Operations Director of the company, Matthew is responsible for the overall co-ordination of the services of LAW Malta. He also has the task of ensuring that the various services of the company are provided according to the required standards and that client's receive timely and user-friendly advice in relation to their workplace. |
Matthew obtained the degree of the Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) from the University of Malta in November of 2001 and the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M) in Labour Law from the London School of Economics in December 2002. Following his studies in London, he returned to Malta wherein he obtained the warrant to practice as an Advocate in the Courts of Justice in Malta in January 2003. Matthew's legal practice mainly evolves around employment, OHS and immigration, areas of law he believes connects both the human and the corporate aspects of legislation.
He has also been heavily involved in the formation of one of Malta's leading law firm's labour law department and has gained valuable experience of Industrial Tribunal proceedings. Matthew is a member of the Lex Mundi European Employment Practices Group and delivers lectures at both the Malta Employers Association and at the ISTC on Occupational H&S Legislation with on Occupational Health and Safety. Matthew has also written a number of articles and in local and foreign magazines and leaflets in relation to both employment and occupational health and safety legislation.
